The sign up steps
- Start on Uber's merchant site. Go to the Uber Eats sign up page and enter your business name, address and contact details.
- Give Uber what it asks for. Uber's merchant terms say your location is added only after you provide the documents and information Uber requests and Uber approves it.
- Set up your menu. Add your dishes, prices, categories and opening hours.
- Add photos. Start with your best sellers. See how to add photos to your Uber Eats menu.
- Go live. Once Uber approves your location, you start taking orders.
What to have ready
Uber's help page on documents for sign up lists:
- an up to date copy of your menu, with prices and descriptions;
- your opening hours;
- a business or food licence.
Requirements can differ by country, and Uber tells you exactly what it needs for your location during sign up. Have your ABN and bank details handy too, so you can finish without stopping.
What it costs
Uber's pricing page lists a one off A$700 activation fee (excl. GST) for a new location, taken from your payouts in weekly instalments, plus a percentage of each order. Our guide to Uber Eats fees for restaurants in Australia explains each rate and how to work out what you keep. Check your own agreement too: it's what counts.
Set your prices before you go live
Commission comes out of every order, so a price that works at your counter can lose money on delivery. Work it out dish by dish with our guide on how to price your menu on Uber Eats.
Your first week
- Best sellers first, each with a clear photo of your real food.
- A short description for every dish. Check yours with our free menu description checker.
- Hours that match when you can really cook and pack orders.
- Order once from yourself, to see your page and packaging the way customers do.
The full list is in our first weeks checklist.
