Uber Eats Fees for Restaurants in Australia (2026): What You Really Pay

Before you set prices or run a promotion, you need to know what Uber Eats takes from each order. Here are Uber's published Australian rates, taken from Uber's own pricing page, and a simple way to work out what you keep.

Quick answer

On the Uber Eats app in Australia, Uber's published rates are 30% of each order when Uber delivers, 16% when you deliver yourself and 8% for pickup. New locations also pay a one off A$700 activation fee (excl. GST). The lower 6% rates you may see apply to Uber's Webshop, your own ordering site, not the app.

How much does Uber Eats charge restaurants?

Uber Eats takes a percentage of each order placed through the app. The percentage depends on who gets the food to the customer.

How the order reaches the customerUber's fee
Uber delivers it30% of the order
You deliver it with your own staff16% of the order
The customer picks it up8% of the order

These are the rates Uber publishes on its pricing page. Your own agreement is what counts, so check your plan and statements in Uber Eats Manager.

The Uber Eats activation fee

New restaurants pay a one off activation fee when they join. Uber's pricing page says it's taken from your payments in weekly instalments, so you don't pay it up front. The amounts are below.

One off fees

Why some blogs say 6%

Uber also offers Webshop, an ordering site for your own customers. Its rates are lower: 25% with Uber delivery, 6% with self delivery and 6% for pickup. Those are not the rates for orders through the Uber Eats app.

How to work out what you keep

Take one of your best sellers and do this sum. Example only, with made up numbers: a dish sells for $20 on the app and Uber delivers it.

  1. Uber's fee: 30% of $20 is $6.
  2. Your food and packaging cost, say $8.
  3. What's left: $20 minus $6 minus $8 is $6, before rent, wages and GST.

Do this for your top ten dishes. If a dish leaves you too little, change its price, its portion or take it off delivery. Our guide on how to price your menu on Uber Eats walks through it.

Make each order count

Because the fee is a percentage, every order costs you the same share. What you can change is how many people choose you and how much they add to their cart. Clear photos, names people understand and best sellers first help with both. See our guide to getting more orders.
