The main types of offer
- Percentage off: a discount on selected dishes or the whole order.
- Buy one get one: a second item free on chosen dishes.
- Free item: a free side, drink or dessert with an order over a set amount.
- Spend and save: money off when the order reaches a set total.
The names and options change from time to time, so always read the current terms in Uber Eats Manager.
Work out what an offer really costs you
Before you start, take one dish and write down three numbers: the price on Uber Eats, what it costs you to make, and the fee you pay on each order. Then take off the discount. If there is little or nothing left, the offer only works if those customers come back and order again at full price. Our guide on pricing your menu on Uber Eats shows how to work out these numbers.
Choose the dish carefully
Put the offer on a dish that shows what you do best and that people tend to order again. A cheap side or a drink as a free item often costs you less than money off a main, and it still feels generous.
Fix your page before you pay for traffic
An offer brings people to your page. If they land on dishes with no photos, unclear names and no descriptions, many will still leave. Do the free fixes first: see how to get more orders on Uber Eats.
Set an end date and check the results
- Run one offer at a time, for a set number of days.
- Write down your orders and new customers before, during and after.
- Keep the offer only if new customers came back without it.
